Privacy

Short version: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking. Only what you choose to send me is stored.

Last updated October 17, 2026.

What's stored in your browser

  • Your light or dark theme (theme) and Eng / Res view (portfolio-mode) choices, in local storage, so the site remembers them.
  • Whether you've seen the loading screen this session (splashed), in session storage. It's gone when you close the tab.
  • On the rollouts newsletter (rollouts.tech): which posts you've liked (rollouts:liked:…, local storage), so the heart stays filled, and which posts you've opened this session (rollouts:viewed:…, session storage), so a reload doesn't count as a second view.

These never leave your device. Clearing your site data removes them.

What's stored on the server

  • If you subscribe by email: your email address, which sign-up box you used, and when. It's used only to send you the newsletter, starting with a welcome email. Every email has an unsubscribe link that deletes your address straight away.
  • If you use the contact form: your name, email, and message, so I can read it and reply.
  • View and like counts for each newsletter post. These are just running totals; nothing about who viewed or liked is kept.

This lives in a database hosted by Supabase. To have your email or message deleted, or to unsubscribe, email me and I'll remove it.

Outside services

  • GitHub activity. The home page loads my public contribution counts from github-contributions-api.jogruber.de. Like any website, that service receives your IP address and browser details when your browser asks it for the data.
  • Fonts are served from this site, not from Google.
  • Supabase stores the data above, and an email provider delivers the newsletter emails.
  • LinkedIn. The newsletter's “Subscribe on LinkedIn” button and share buttons take you to LinkedIn or X, under their own privacy policies.
  • Hosting. The server that hosts this site may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time).
